Tips for a Successful Nominee Packet Submission
Be clear, concise and direct:
The judges can only evaluate the information that is supplied to them by the Nominee via the Nominee Packet Submission. Which means it's up to YOU to provide a clear, concise and direct submission that answers the requested questions and complies to the 500 word per question limitation. Be sure to provide specific, factual, and quantifiable information that is written for a general audience.
Criteria is the key:
The judges will be looking at technological sophistication and business acumen, as well as category-specific criteria. We suggest you focus your narrative around the criteria specific to your category. Your pdf attachments should provide additional support.
The Qualification Period:
Be sure to focus your submission on the Qualification Period . The Qualification Period for the 2011 Innovation Awards is August 1, 2010 – August 2, 2011. Your initiative can begin before August 1, but your submission should be clear about what has happened during the Qualification Period (product launch, funding award, technological breakthrough, change in market position, etc).
Choose how you want to work:
You may choose to work on your Nominee Packet Submission directly in the online form, or formulate your submission externally and copy/paste your information into the online form fields. Be sure to choose the method that is easiest for you to gather your material and write your winning submission!
Always SAVE YOUR WORK:
During the Submission process, you may enter, update and leave your online form as often as you like until you are ready to make your final submission to the judges. Be sure to SAVE YOUR FORM often and each time you are ready to leave the IA website. If you leave the online form without saving your work, you will lose any content that has been added since your last SAVE.
Copies of your Submission:
Once your packet has been submitted, you will no longer have access to your form or it's content. If you need a copy of your content for any reason, make sure you copy/paste a draft from your Final Review page for your own personal use in the future. After submitting your Final Packet to the IA Judges, Nominees will receive a confirmation email notifying them of their successful submission to the IA system.
