The TechColumbus Innovation Awards celebrate and honor individuals and teams in a variety of disciplines. Each award category is an important component of the technology and innovation community. Receiving the top honor in an award category showcases the dramatic impact of the awardee’s contributions in Central Ohio and beyond.
2011 COMPANY AWARD CATEGORIES
Outstanding Startup Business
A growing company, in business for less than (<) five (5) years, with at least one product or service.
Outstanding Product (company with fewer than 250 employees)
A company that has designed, developed and produced a technology-based product.
Outstanding Product (company with more than 250 employees)
A company that has designed, developed and produced a technology-based product.
Outstanding Service (company with fewer than 250 employees)
A company that has defined, introduced and marketed a technology-based service.
Outstanding Service (company with more than 250 employees)
A company that has defined, introduced and marketed a technology-based service.
Outstanding Technology Team
A team of TWO OR MORE individuals, each from at least one company, that demonstrates successful implementation or development of an innovative technology-based initiative or technological breakthrough.
Green Innovation
A company that has EITHER: Developed a Green product or service that is commercially available and in production, and is in use with at least one customer/client; OR Applied or implemented a technology or process change that has a net positive impact on the environment.
Innovation in Non-Profit Service Delivery
A non-profit organization that has applied or implemented a technology or process change that has positively impacted the ability of the organization to provide constituent services.
Corporate Innovator of the Year (company with more than 5000 employees)
An individual, team, organizational unit within a company WITH MORE THAN 5,000 EMPLOYEES that has had direct leadership and involvement in the innovative use of technology.

An executive of a company has achieved significant business success within the Qualification Period.
Executive of the Year (company with more than 250 employees)

Outstanding Woman in Technology
A woman who demonstrates a commitment and dedication to technology.
Inventor of the Year
An inventor who, by a single invention or multiple innovations, has created the greatest impact on technology through his, her or their innovation(s).
